Branch Conference
This has been a really good week! This city is seriously a city of miracles and it's super cool to be here with it all happening! Monday we block knocked into a lady named Crt.... She's been all over the world. North America, South America, Japan, etc. which is really cool because a lot of people from here haven't been outside of the country in their lifetime. She's super open and wants answers which is good, because we have them. We also met with a lady named Lu... on Saturday. She's been coming to our English classes for this whole transfer and is interested in the gospel now. She's super cool and came to church yesterday, but was unfortunately an hour late thanks to the time change. In Romania ”Ora de vară” or ”The hour of summer”, the Romanian equivalent of Daylight savings, didn't start until this last weekend. And we had quite a few people late for church because of it. Another man, Flr..., came to church and we had a lesson with him and a member. He's a former investigator but wants to maybe investigate again. He's not that committed though, and may be a little insane so I don't know where that'll go.
Yesterday at church was awesome! We had President Hill, our mission president, and President Doru, the București District President come to church for Branch Conference. They spoke and so did President Bâldea, our branch president. It was a super spiritual meeting, and way cool to have all of them there. I got called to be the first counselor in the sunday school presidency and the other missionaries got callings in the Elders' quorum and young men's presidency. We also had 41 people at the conference, which is the most that have come to church since I've been here, and the most this city has seen for quite a while. Since at least a year or two ago.
Basically it was a super good week, and to make it even better we had a 3-some all week. Elder M... left to Arad a week early because a missionary went home a week early due to travel complications. The missionary was one of the assistants to the president, and Elder H... (yes, my trainer), was called as the new assistant! Then Elder M... went and took Elder H...'s place in Arad. So yeah, it was a crazy fun week with Elder L..., Elder B... and I staying in the same apartment. We get along well and it was super fun.
So that's what we did this week. Oh yeah, we also played basketball on P-day and we are going again today. It's warming up and it's been super nice weather lately. I hope all of you are doing great!
